Introducing the new Croydon BID Radio Link

The need to deliver a safe environment for those that work, live, visit and do business in our towns and cities continues to be a priority.

To that end, Croydon BID are delighted to announce the launch of the new Croydon BID Radio Link offering businesses valuable updates, insights and intelligence in to activities taking place real-time.

Working in partnership with Chatterbox, a local provider of radio systems with 25 years’ experience, Croydon BID aims to deliver an effective solution for businesses in the town centre, whereby criminal activity and anti-social behaviour can be reported via the radio link, improving overall safety and offering reassurance to staff.

The Croydon BID Radio Link replaces the now expired Croydon Council Safer Croydon Radio scheme. Under the new scheme, businesses will be issued with new radio units, have immediate, direct links with other business users across the town centre and be offered training and support to ensure the Croydon BID Radio Link delivers for their needs.

Working on behalf of around 550 of Croydon’s best known organisations, Croydon BID has confirmed its commitment to safety by not only taking control of the scheme but in providing its levy payers with a £50 discount per year, per radio.

Matthew Sims, Chief Executive of Croydon BID said: “Safety concerns us all and at a time when we are faced with growing challenges and concerns, Croydon BID has demonstrated its continued commitment to supporting our business community.

“The Croydon BID Radio Link aims to provide that immediate resource so that collaboration and communication from business to business can be achieved. With greater intelligence, updates and reporting, businesses that use the new radio scheme will be able to keep abreast of what is happening in the town centre. I am particularly pleased that, as a company that represents 550 businesses, we are in a position to reduce the overall cost for our BID levy payers.”

The Croydon BID Radio Link will officially launch on 1st April 2019. However, businesses are being urged to contact Rebecca Molloy, Business Crime & Safety Manager at Croydon BID on 020 8603 0050 to complete the necessary application and receive their radio sets.
