Here is where you will be able to see giant artwork in tribute to Andy Warhol around Croydon
A map pinpointing the route and locations where giant artwork tributes to Andy Warhol will appear in Croydon has been revealed.
Original Andy Warhol artworks are coming to Croydon as part of a “groundbreaking” month-long project called Warhol Croydon, which is expected to bring 100,000 visitors to the borough.
RISEGallery, in St George’s Walk, will be delivering a programme of events throughout September, which will feature a free exhibition of the legendary American artist’s work as a tribute to his life, 30 years after his death.
There will also be a street exhibition of giant artworks in homage to Warhol curated by RISEGallery and the artist Dotmasters, including tributes by some of today’s leading artists, displayed on town centre buildings which will be lit up at night.
A map and information giving hints on what people can expect from these tributes has been produced.
Free guided tours of the exhibition will also happen twice daily throughout the month and there will be a series of free Warhol film and documentary screenings, talks and lectures and late night openings at the gallery.
