Get ready for Croydon’s Festive Funk
One of four live music and street food events to be staged from 5pm – 9pm in Croydon’s newly-pedestrianised High Street, Festive Funk promises to be a lively way of bridging the gap between work and play-time, before people head off to make the most of Croydon’s vibrant nightlife.
Topping the bill at our first event will be London’s top close harmony trio ‘The Haywood Sisters’ who took the UK by storm, performing classic hits by girl groups such as The Shirelles, The Andrews Sisters and the Ronettes. With killer curves and perfect harmonies, the glamorous trio is bound to get a few pulses beating. Watch the girls perform in Ronnie Scott’s.
Joining the trio will be London’s funkiest New Orleans style brass jazz band, the ‘Brass Volcanoes’, who will bring energy, hip-swinging and bluesy fun to the night with their mixture of original and popular songs, Mardi Gras and jazz standards. See the band perform at the 2012 London Olympics.
Our Festive Funk programme doesn’t stop there!
Join us every Thursday from 5pm – 9pm thereafter until Thursday, December 14th for a FREE, body shaking, energy packed night of street food, fun, music and of course, some dancing. Event dates are as follows: Thursday, 23rd November, Thursday, 30thNovember, Thursday, 7thDecember, Thursday, 14thDecember.
Croydon’s Festive Funk is one of a number of events being organised in the town centre this year in the drive to attract more people into town and help them see Croydon differently.
