It could have a gaming area, too.

A vape shop serving alcohol and with a gaming area could be coming to Purley.

A pool table, jukebox and small stake fruit machines would all be included if a licensing application is successful.

The plans have been submitted by Every Cloud Vape Shop which already runs 12 shops in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire.

If approved the new shop would be based at 933 Brighton Road, next door to Purley Barbers.

In the application, company director Isaac Lloyd said: “Given the nature of our shop, access will only be granted to persons over 18 years of age and ID will be required where necessary.”

He adds that a ‘limited selection’ of alcoholic drinks would be sold and he anticipates no more than 10 customers would be there at one time.

“All food and drink will be consumed on the premises and staff will be trained to monitor the level of consumption of alcoholic beverages,” said Mr Lloyd.

The shop’s proposed opening hours would be from 8.30am-7.30pm and the licence is to supply alcohol from 12-7pm Monday to Saturday and 12-4pm on Sundays.

It will be up to Croydon Council to decide whether the licence is granted.
