Opening date announced for bar with ball pits for adults in Croydon town centre

Ping pong and pool tables will also be available at FunHouse on Croydon High Street.

Excitement has been building since the announcement a new bar with two adult-sized ball pits was coming to Croydon and now the opening date has been confirmed.

When we revealed what the new High Street venue will offer it got a huge reaction.

FunHouse announced in October it will bring pool tables, a ping pong table, two bars and two ball pits filled with 200,000 balls to the heart of Croydon.

Captivating UV colours and large eye-catching props will complete a distinctive look.

Food will also be available, with chicken wings, chips, mozzarella dippers, nachos and pizzas all on the menu.

Co-owner Louise Sainsbury and manager Matt Johnson are behind Memory Box and Club 88 – two existing Croydon nightspots.

So hopes are high about the imminent opening of FunHouse.

When will FunHouse open?

Saturday, December 1, is the day the adults of Croydon will get to try out the ball pits.

The venue opens its doors for the first time at 4pm that day.

In an announcement about the opening FunHouse playfully said: “We want you to come and play with our 200,000 balls.”

How do you get FunHouse tickets?

Tickets are now on sale to the public for the big opening.

Booking a visit to FunHouse will mean reserving a two hour slot at some point between 4pm and 2am – which will be the venue’s opening hours seven days a week.

Week day tickets cost £5 when booked in advance online.

‘Funky Friday’ tickets – for between 4 and 8pm – also cost £5 in advance. The cost rises to £7.50 from 8pm until 2am.

‘Balls Out Saturday’ tickets are priced at £7.50 in advance.

‘The fun will never stop’

In a statement, the FunHouse team added: “The fun will never stop in our house, as FunHouse will also have ping-pong tables for you to get rallying along with your friends, pool tables to put that eight-ball into the pot and beer pong tables for you to test your throwing skills.

“FunHouse will be a late night venue for everyone, where you can enjoy time with your friends, a team night out with work colleagues, the perfect date night destination, or on the flip side there will be packages for stags, hens and birthdays.”
