New Programme – Building Business Horizons (BBH)

We are pleased to announce that StartUp Croydon will be introducing a new six month pilot programme which will be starting in May 2019 for those who have attended the 3 day new business course.

Supported by Croydon Council, this programme will be designed to build upon the information and tools that participants have gained from the three day course through the delivery of six monthly workshops covering the following topics

May 2019                        Demystifying the Business Plan

June 2019                       Finance and BudgetsStartUp Croydon and Croydon Council logos

July 2019                        Identifying Customers

August 2019                   Business Model Canvas

September 2019           Social Media

October 2019                 Putting It All Together

These will be supplemented by monthly masterclass style Learning Breakfasts and Lunches where you will have the opportunity to learn about various topics including Legal Structures, Market Research, designing a Minimum Viable Product, Accountancy, Selling and Pitching from experts.

In addition, for those who may be looking at starting a social enterprise there will be the opportunity to learn about setting your Mission, Vision and Values, Identifying the social problem you are trying to resolve, designing a Theory of Change, introduction to social impact and impact reporting.

These masterclasses/learning breakfasts and lunches will be open to all alumni of the three day new business course and SEEK programme and will also give you the chance of meeting with and networking with like-minded entrepreneurs.

Following successful completion, there is the chance to pitch or present your business or social enterprise model for additional business support details of which will be available soon.

The programme will only be open to all who have attended the three day new business course through an application process and an informal 1-1 interview to assess need and eligibility; however, as spaces will be limited to a maximum of 12 people on the main programme, priority will be given to those who are unemployed and/or economically disadvantaged in the Croydon area and who can commit to and achieve at least 80% attendance of the workshops/modules.
