New club coming to Croydon High Street on site of Club 88 Degrees
The new club, called Story, is replacing an old venue.
A new club is opening on Croydon High Street this summer.
Story, which will open on the site of the now-closed Club 88 Degrees, will open its doors to the public on the weekend of June 28.
Venues like Tiger Tiger, Black Sheep Bar and Bad Apple have all shut in recent years, with one nightclub boss speculating that fear of knife crime may put revellers off the town centre .
The most recent closure is the town’s only strip club, which shut up shop only last month .
However, the “new concept venue” may allay fears about the area and aims to make the town centre “a destination that everyone wants to visit”.
Though management told My London that refurbishment work is still being completed, tickets for the opening weekend events are already available, with prices ranging from £3 to £8.
The club will open from 10pm until 4am and promises “songs you know and love, creating a soundtrack to your story”.
