Croydon Village Outlet update: Three weeks on traders finally return to work at the Whitgift Centre

After weeks of uncertainty for traders at Croydon Village Outlet, there is some light at the end of the tunnel as some businesses have now been allowed to move to the Whitgift Centre.

However it’s been revealed today (August 14) the reason the building has remained shut is because of a series of “health and safety” issues which Croydon Council says has stopped it from letting the traders return.

In the early hours of July 16 Croydon Council took possession of the former Allders building.

Shop owners were left in the dark about whether they would be able to trade again or even when they could access their stock and safes. Many feared they might lose their businesses altogether.
