MyPT The Gym, based in Sunley House, is the next step in the company’s plans to improve Croydon residents’ and businesses’ health, wellness and productivity.
Opened by MyPT directors Tom Riddick and Danny Wallace, the new 10,000sq ft gym features state-of-art cardio and weight equipment. With specific zones for each area of a workout, the space is completed with luxury changing rooms featuring saunas and a towel service.
At the launch, guests heard inspirational stories from members Baskar Sundaram and Rebecca de Paula Hanika, who spoke openly about how the team at MyPT had played a vital role in improving not only their health by losing weight, but their productivity, wellbeing and confidence – and how they’ve passed that positivity into their communities.
The gym will always have a Personal Trainer present to ensure members can get the assistance MyPT provides. There will also be free workshops and seminars to ensure members are confident using equipment, with tips and advice to improve their form and further their workout experience, and also nutrition advice to ensure members are eating right to maximise their results.
Each member will also receive a custom designed training programme that makes MyPT so unique to other local gyms. Accessed by a mobile app, tailored monthly meal plans, shopping lists and healthy recipes are accessible 24/7 to help members achieve their goals.
Tom Riddick, managing director of MyPT, said: “I’m so excited to be able to open MyPT The Gym. This is an exciting expansion that means we can continue our work of improving the health and wellbeing of residents and celebrating positivity and community within Croydon.
“With a bright, colourful, positive training environment, with all the latest fitness innovations, we’ve designed MyPT The Gym with our members in mind to actually make exercising and working out an enjoyable experience.
“What we have here is more than a gym. It’s a community. We’re providing an unrivalled tailored service for every single member. We have a team of 20 personal trainers, some of the best in the industry. They’re not only fountains of knowledge but great people as well. There’s a programme of workshops, which you can book in for free too – there’s no stone unturned in terms of support.”
