The United Kingdom has left the European Union and we have now entered a transitional period during which further negotiations over the final exit deal will take place. It is almost certain that customs entries will be required for UK/EU trade after this period and it is crucial that businesses are using this period wisely to prepare.
This workshop, organised in partnership with Unsworth, aims to support businesses currently trading with the EU. Attendees will be able to test their current Brexit-readiness position and plan a roadmap of practical steps to take to ensure your business is prepared for the impending Customs requirements. There will also be an opportunity to network with other UK traders experiencing the same issues. After the workshop, attendees will also have a clear understanding of customs requirements in a post-Brexit environment, receiving one-to-one practical guidance from the experts.
Robert has over 35 years’ experience in Customs, Borders and European Logistics. Having previously held senior positions at Eurotunnel, P&O Ferries and Nagel Group, Robert has been involved in various aspects of trade and freight flow. Until 2017 Robert ran the Customs terminal at the Port of Dover and is now a full-time Brexit advisor. Robert is working with many large brands to prepare them for Brexit and is also an advisor to the Institute for Government.
Antons comes from a freight forwarding background: having spent the last 15 years in various roles across the road, air and sea freight shipping industries on both sides of the English Channel, he now heads up a team at Unsworth supporting businesses in preparation for the departure from the Customs Union. He will provide an insight into how the freight forwarding industry is evolving to meet the new challenges, and what you should be expecting from your freight forwarder in the coming months.
